OUR STORY
Starting Locally, Growing Globally
Cait, Jack and Paul are childhood friends who grew up in Hong Kong, in love with the city's natural beauty, but also aware of the impact of pollution on daily life.
In 2017, they decided to make a difference. They founded Solerico as a nonprofit focused on protecting the environment and helping those most affected by climate change and pollution.
Their journey begins in Asia, where many communities are still reliant on fossil fuels or have limited access to electricity. Those communities are often those least responsible for climate change, but also those most affected by its effects.
Founded in HK, Solerico is undoubtedly influenced by its culture and language. The logo originates from the pinyin Chinese character 'rì', which means sun. It also looks a bit like a solar panel - so it was meant to be!
