TO OUR FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS

Since launching Solerico, we've made some big strides as an organisation.

We've consolidated our flagship project: the Nepal Clean Irrigation Project, and have secured funding to install at least another 40 solar powered water pumps in the far west of the country. We have also started work in the Himalayas to help a local charity remove and recycle 2-3 million plastic water bottles.

We've attracted new talent to our growing team, including new board members and support staff in marketing and branding.

And we've formally incorporated Solerico in the USA, with the aim to expand our network and launch other projects around the world.

As for this report, it is the first time we have released something like this. In it, we hope to share with you our journey from our inception in 2017 to today, and share with you our vision for tomorrow.

When Jack, Paul and I were first brainstorming in late 2017 over how we could make a difference in the global fight against climate change, I couldn't have imagined how far we would come in just a few years.

It has been another record-breaking year for the climate crisis. 2020 has now been confirmed as the warmest year on record, a trend we’ve now become almost accustomed to on a yearly basis. And the Covid-19 crisis has also further highlighted the devastating global consequences of human encroachment into the natural world.

On a personal note, this year ended with the joyful arrival of Jack and my daughter, Noah. Her birth reminds us why the work we do at Solerico is so crucial if we want to leave a better world behind. It is also a reminder that big things cannot be achieved alone.

I’d like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to all our incredible supporters so far. None of what we’ve been able to achieve in this report would have been possible without you all. Thank you! Our work is far from over though, we still need all of your support to help us continue to protect the planet that we all call home.

I hope you enjoy this report and feel free to reach out if you wish to support or contribute in any way.
